Who therapy is for

Therapy is for anyone who wants support.

Individual or Personal Therapy are one-on-one sessions built around you.

Common reasons people reach out about personal therapy:

  • Feeling anxious, low, or overwhelmed
  • Wanting support but aren't sure where to start
  • Work, relationships, or daily routines feel harder than they should
  • You've tried therapy before and want a different approach

If any of this sounds familiar, a first conversation is a simple, no-pressure way to begin.

Three ways to begin therapy

Start where it makes the most sense — we’ll adjust from there.

People come to The Newly for many different reasons. Some want one-on-one support. Others need help rebuilding routines or navigating work and life again. Our team helps you start in the right place — and adjust your care if your needs change.

What you can get from personal therapy

Feel more capable, supported, and able to move forward.

Personal therapy meets you where you are — whether that’s through Individual Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy — and helps you build steadier footing, practical tools, and room to heal.

Tools that help in everyday life

Support for recovery and healing

FAQ

Common Questions

No. You can book a first conversation directly. If you have a referral from a physician or other provider, we’re happy to coordinate — but it isn’t required.

Most people aren’t sure, and that’s okay. A short first conversation helps us understand what’s going on and recommend whether weekly therapy or a more structured program is the right fit.

It varies. Some people come for a few sessions to work through something specific. Others stay longer for ongoing support. Your therapist will check in with you regularly about what’s helping and what isn’t.

Many extended health plans cover therapy with a registered therapist. Coverage depends on your plan, so we recommend checking with your provider. Our team can help you understand what to ask.

Yes. We offer secure virtual sessions across Canada in addition to in-person care at our five locations.

Fit matters. If something feels off, tell us — we’ll help you switch to a different therapist with no pressure or awkwardness.

Choosing the right level of support

Therapy or a Program?

Many people start with a conversation and we help guide them to the right place.

You don’t have to know what kind of therapy you need.

The first step is simply a conversation about what’s been going on and what kind of support might help.
